Netgear AX1800 RAX20 review Recently purchased from Amazon.co.uk The Netgear RAX20 is a WiFi 6 device. Supports Wireless 2.4GHz b/g/n/ax and 5GHz a/n/ac/ax. So far this router has proved to be very capable and has cured the problems I had using Virgin Media HUB3. It caters for most of the requirements of a typical home. We are heavy networking users with 2 people working from home, forever watching NETFLIX in 4K and football matches via SKY and BT Sports. So far no issues but early days. 4th Nov 2020 Happy to report all home has better WiFi coverage and much more stable. Best of all the dreaded Virgin Media hub has been relegated to modem mode. The frequent reboots of the VM router are no longer required, thankfully. check out my web sites. https://sites.google.com/site/windows10okok/ https://sites.google.com/view/fxv300tech/home https://sites.google.com/view/fxv300/
In the last week or so I have started having problems when watching BT sports using Chrome or Microsoft Edge. This method has worked fine for me for a few years now so something has changed. The stream seems to have a problem of some kind, keeps buffering, stuttering etc. My broadband speed is 200mB/s so no bandwidth problem. I have found a solution to this but would like a fix. If I use Firefox web browser the stream is rock solid and works fine without and stuttering. This seems to imply that Chrome or Edge are managing the stream differently. After doing some research I have found a fix for this. Removing Hardware acceleration the problem seems to be fixed. For online games that need hardware acceleration I use EDGE and anything else I use Chrome with Hardware Acceleration turned off. Comments welcome. Hardware acceleration in computing happens when an application will offload tasks onto a GPU, also known as GPU rendering. Web browsers have the option to use this option which ...
I am now in a situation that I can make Netflix show 4K UHD Video via EDGE. This is now reproducible. If I load Sky Sports Player it loads CiscoVideoGuard and it is then put in the “Start-up” group. So it is there forever and EDGE will not show 4K UHD. However you can disable the action. So to have EDGE working disable CiscoVideoGuard. This can loaded manually when you need to view anything via Sky Sports Player. CiscoVideoGuard file location for me. C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Local\Cisco\VideoGuardPlayer\VideoGuardMonitor Within that folder there are lists of ports. I was wondering if these are ports used by Netflix? websocket.unsecured.ports=9005,12940,7165,8819,31840 websocket.secured.ports=9015,13526,26819,19274,17354 feature.MajorMonitorVersion=1 feature.MinorMonitorVersion=0 Netflix App is stuck on HD and I cannot get it back. Firstly this worked in 4K after I did a system restore. But once it ...
